Bodyboard Coaching-Beginner Skills (IPDJ credits)

Gain the knowledge to take students to teach beginner bodyboarding skills. Covering session planning, skills development, student management, and safety, these courses are designed to boost your teaching capabilities.

Approved by the IPDJ, these courses are for instructors holding Desporto de Surf Grau 1 and 2 certificate. Earn 3 Credits (3 Unidades de Crédito, IPDJ).

This is a participation course only, with no formal assessment. Upon attending the workshop, you'll be eligible to receive the IPDJ-approved ASI course certificate.

Learn the skills and knowledge to instruct individuals how to bodyboard at the beginner level.

The training applies to surf locations with surf up to 3ft (1 metre)

Professional skills update course for instructors holding Treinador De Desporto Surfing Grau courses.

  • Skills required for teaching beginner bodyboarding lessons

  • Student management safety, risks and hazards

  • Emergency processes and responses

  • Identifying suitable equipment

  • How to plan bodyboarding sessions

  • Review of bodyboarding lesson plans

  • Training methods for teaching beginner bodyboarding skills

  • Hold Treinador De Desporto Surfing Grau1 or 2 course

  • Have surfing skill and knowledge equivalent to ASI Intermediate Level Bodyboarder - In the top half of the wave, perform and link Intermediate Bodyboarding Manoeuvres: Turns (right-hand, left-hand turn), Bottom turn, Top turn, Cut-back

The following study options are available for this course.

Workshop:  An intensive course that focuses on the major components, with the ability to interact with the trainer and the group. 
Duration:  2 days.  9am to 5.30pm

  • Surf clothing
