Learn how to stand up paddle, join in SUP lessons and SUP tours with BigStyle, an ASI accredited SUP school, located at Dun Laoghaire Harbour, only 10 km from Dublin’s city centre.
Meet the Team
BigStyle is owned and operated by Kris Goodbody. Originally a kitesurfer, Kris started paddling in 2012. He has been kitesurfing instructing, since 2010, in Dublin, west of Ireland and the south east. And has organised multi trips abroad to Kenya, Tanzania and Sri Lanka. Kris has also run many successful SUP trips down the River Liffey and in Dublin’s Dun Laoghaire harbour.
Kris holds ASI Level 2 SUP instructor (Exposed Waters), surf rescue and first aid, senior kitesurfing instructor, lifeguard and coasteering guide qualifications.
BigStyle was originally a kitesurf school and started offering SUP as an alternative. It is a great option when there is no wind for kitesurfing.
He is assisted in the school by experienced ASI accredited SUP Instructors, holding first aid and rescue qualifications.
Service Overview
BigStyle offers group and private lessons and SUP tours, team building for kids, adults, parties, school groups and corporates.
You can rent board and equipment and paddle at your leisure.
Guided SUP sessions are conducted with an ASI instructor. Including instruction on how to paddle and feedback on your technique to ensure you are paddling safely and with ease.
The SUP school also offers SUP tours for the more experienced, paddling distances of 8 and 13kms.
Summer SUP camps are held for kids that covers skills and safety and are loads of fun.
Location Features
Bigstyle SUP operates at Coal Harbour, with Dun Laoghaire Harbour. Dublin just 10km from the city centre.
Steeped in over 200 years of history, the harbour is the perfect place to learn to stand up paddle as it’s sheltered from almost every wind direction.
The harbour offers people a calm water option with a vast area to explore and the opportunity to engage with local wildlife such as seals which always come to check out what’s going on.
SUP tours are organised down the River Liffey into Dublin, It has interesting natural scenery and an urban land scape. See Dublin from a different perspective !

Dun Laoghaire Harbour offers a blend of scenic walks, maritime heritage, and local charm. Visitors can stroll along the East Pier for stunning bay views and lighthouse scenery, or opt for the quieter West Pier for peaceful reflection.
