Learn how to surf and have surfing lessons at Surf the Bay Surf School, an ASI accredited surf school, located at Broulee (near Batemans Bay and Ulladella), approx. 300 kilometres south of Sydney.

Surf the Bay Surf School is owned and run by Tim Lassau and Glen Hall.    Both Tim and Glen grew up in the local area and have been surfing most of their lives.   Tim is a qualified primary school education teacher and has been a surf coach since 2006.  Glen is a qualified high school teacher and has been a surf coach since 2007.  They also hold surf rescue and senior first aid qualifications.

Tim and Glen started the surf school as they wanted to offer a more innovative and interesting way to learn to surf.  This was not currently available in the local area.   Being teachers, Glen and Tim developed unique learn to surf formats using educational teaching techniques applied in a fun way.   This allows students to learn easier, progress their surfing at a pace their feel comfortable with and above all, have fun.

Surf the Bay Surf School services the Ulladella to Narooma areas and offers group and private surfing lessons, beginner to intermediate level, surfing guide trips, surfing awareness, for families, kids, adults, parties, community groups and corporates.

They specialise in providing surfing programs for school groups.  Surf the Bay Surf School can customize and offer programs and resources that are VET approved, fit into the sports curriculum and organise and manage surf activity camps from 1 day to weekly or more.

They offer a more personalised service as they have a range of programs to suit different people and abilities. They make it as fun as possible, without overloading you with information, give you lots of handy hints and spend time with you, in and out of the water.

Being locals, Tim, Glen and the team can offer a wealth of knowledge of the local area, find the best surf, help with purchasing a new board and even recommend accommodation, if you are visiting our area.

Broulee has one of best beaches to learn on.  It’s a big bay, the sand has a gradual incline and waves roll in perfectly for beginners.  There are often dolphins surfing alongside lessons and occasionally you see whales a bit further out.

Broulee is surrounded by national parks with kangaroo’s, bird life and lots of natural beauty.  A perfect place to unwind and explore the Aussie countryside.
