Cork City SUP is owned and operated by Muirti O'Cearnaigh. He is a highly experienced SUP and water sports instructor who has been teaching full time water sports for over 16 years.  He holds ASI Level 2 SUP Instructor (Exposed Waters), water rescue and first aid certificates, multiple water sports coaching qualifications and is a beach lifeguard trainer. He’s assisted in the SUP school by experienced and accredited SUP instructors. 

Muirtí also owns two other ASI SUP schools, Summer SUP Mayo and Summer SUP West Cork. He started the SUP schools after travelling around the world and seeing the potential for SUP back home, with its variety, from paddling on flat water to SUP surfing.

Cork city is on an island in the middle of the River Lee so it’s the perfect place to SUP. You will paddle past famous landmarks including St Marys Priory Church on Popes Quay, old North Mall Distillery built in 1779 and Odlams Mill and R&H Grain Store.

Paddle under bridges including the red and white landmark of St Vincent’s bridge, the famous Shakey bridge and Patricks Bridge, the gateway to the city’s hustle and bustle and Cork’s largest bridge, built in the 1780's.

The green tree-lined banks and calm waters allows you to feel like you’re out in the country but still able to see all the spires and rooftops of the City which includes Shandon Tower Bells and St Anne’s Church.
