The ASI SUP Tour Guide course will take place in the heart of the Lomond and Trossachs National Park UK.
Near the historic and beautiful town of Aberfoyle. It is the full wild camping experience.
This course will give you the opportunity to get on the Lochs, surrounded by mountains, wildlife and experience what a true SUP adventure is.
Set against some of the most stunning landscapes in the UK you will undertake an extended paddle with an overnight stay.
The first day will be practical covering both theory and paddling on the Loch to your overnight location. Set up camp and get the full wild camping experience. The next day will be a return to the training venue to put together everything you have learned and give you the opportunity to apply this to your very own guided SUP tour.
SCHEDULE
Day 1 - Thursday 21 September 2023
9am to 3pm: on water paddling to accommodation / campsite
6pm: group meet up and dinner
Day 2 - Friday 22 September 2023
8am to 9am: breakfast at accommodation / campsite
9am to 5pm: on water and classroom
OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATION
Overnight accommodation is included in the course fee.
For this course, you will be wild camping.
You will be pitching your tent, and packing it up in the morning.
Tents, food and cooking equipment is provided.
Single tents and share tent options are available.
Bring your own sleeping bag.
FOOD
Breakfast is included on day two.
Lunch various options eg purchase from cafe/restaurant or bring yourself.
Camp fire cooking is also included for dinner and breakfast.
Dinner and breakfast will be organised before setting off.
PERSONAL EFFECTS
Some personal effects will be carried on your board.
And some will be transported by support vehicle.

Ocean Vertical are providing local support for the ASI training, providing a wealth of local area knowledge.

Pre-requisite:
Experienced paddler.
Hold ASI Level 1 SUP Instructor certificate or equivalent.

Stevie Boyle Biography
Stevie has over 20 years experience as an outdoor adventure instructor and guide in Scotland. He lives in the local area and has extensive knowledge of paddling the Scottish lochs and oceans. He specialises in remote tours, wild camping and survival and mountaineering - summer and winter with snow and ice. Stevie is a SUP school owner, experienced paddler and ASI trainer.
This course includes overnight accommodation on 21 September 2023.

The following is provided:
- Tent, breakfast and dinner, cooking equipment.
Please bring the following to the training:
- SUP Touring board (or suitable flat water board)
- Paddle & Leash
- SUP clothing suitable for longer distance paddling.
- Hydration - camel back or water bottle
- Energy food and water (whilst paddling)
- Personal protection e.g sunscreen
- Watch – ideally a GPS watch
- Clothing and personal possessions for overnight stay.
- Camping: sleeping bag and sleeping mat.
- Optional: you can bring your own tent.
