The ASI SUP Tour Guide course will take place in the heart of the country in Tamworth, UK.
Tamworth is the historical capital of the Midlands, with the iconic Tamworth Castle at its centre.
This course will give you the opportunity to get on the local rivers and canals in the area and experience what a true SUP adventure is.
Set against a blended backdrop of both Urban and countryside settings you will undertake an extended paddle with an overnight stay.
You will begin with a morning session in the classroom, followed by a paddle on the River Tame to your overnight location. The next day will be a return to the training venue to put together everything you have learned and give you the opportunity to apply this to your very own guided SUP tour.
SCHEDULE
Day 1
9am to 11am: classroom
11am to 5pm: on water paddling to accommodation
6pm: group meet up and dinner
Day 2
8am to 9am: breakfast at accommodation
9am to 5pm: on water and classroom
OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATION
Overnight accommodation is included in the course fee.
For this course, you will be staying in a B&B or hotel accommodation.
You will have your own private room.
FOOD
Breakfast is included on day two.
Lunch and dinner costs are your responsibility.
Lunch various options eg purchase from cafe/restaurant or bring yourself.
Dinner will be organised at / near the accommodation and is optional to attend
PERSONAL EFFECTS
Personal effects are transported by support vehicle.
HOSTING
SUP Central SUP School are providing local support for the ASI training, providing a wealth of local area knowledge.

- SUP Touring board (or suitable hard board)
- Paddle
- Leash
- SUP clothing suitable for longer distance paddling.
- Hydration - camel back or water bottle
- Energy food and water (whilst paddling)
- Personal protection e.g sunscreen
- Watch – ideally a GPS watch
- Clothing and personal possessions for overnight stay.

The training venue is held at Cliffs Lake, located only 10 minutes from the centre of Tamworth.
The Lakes are set against a backdrop of trees and offers great paddling. On site is the training room, changing rooms with hot showers, the Waterfront Bar, the Coffee Hut and sports shop.
Tamworth is located in Staffordshire, England, 14 miles (23 km) north-east of Birmingham city centre and 103 miles (166 km) north-west of London.
The River Tame and River Anker flows through the town and is home of the historic Tamworth Castle and Moat House, (an 11th century Norman castle).
