Aim
Deliver basic SUP yoga sessions at flat water locations, in waist deep water, no more than 50 metres from shore.
Locations / Remit
Qualified to teach at SUP yoga locations, defined as:
inland waters or coastal locations with flat water, no swell or breaking waves, minimal or no wind
water depth no more than 4ft (standing depth)
no more than 50 metres from shore
paddling less than 50 metres to get to the SUP yoga activity area

Entry Requirements
Before starting this course:
hold a Yoga Teacher Certificate (minimum 200 hours).
have participated in, or practiced on your own, a minimum of 10 hours of SUP yoga sessions.
a minimum of 20 hours on water stand up paddling experience.
English speaking skills (online manuals have translation)

Held in great locations throughout the world.
Duration: 2 days, plus 1-2 hours post workshop test, plus 8 hours practical experience.
Online Learning:
Ideal for people who are already experienced or would like flexibility to complete their training.
Work at your own pace.
Using ASI's e-learning platform with access to training manuals, videos, reference materials and assessments.
Duration: approx. 30 hours plus 10 hours practical experience.
Course Requirements - Workshop
Face to face (in-person) training. Complete most course requirements at the workshop.
Duration: 2 days.

Complete theory assessments and exercises & practice on water.
Practice SUP paddle skills and SUP rescues
Demonstrate ability to perform SUP yoga poses with safety.
Demonstrate ability to prepare the class - enter the water, anchoring, organise group ready to start the session.
Demonstrate ability to conduct SUP Yoga class with correct sequencing, techniques and safety.
After workshop:
Complete multi-choice online tests - SUP Yoga Teacher, SUP Rescue and SUP Wise Intensiv
Complete 10 hours of practical experience (2 hours signed off in workshop).
Assisting in the delivery of SUP Yoga sessions at an ASI accredited SUP school or other approved SUP school. Submit logbook of hours and declaration signed by SUP school owner.
Alternative practical hours experience is available if no ASI school nearby to you.
Recognition of previous SUP yoga teaching experience can be accepted.
Other:
Submit your SUP Yoga Teacher Certificate (minimum 200 hours)
Submit a current senior first aid certificate Acceptable First Aid certificates
Submit identification
Note: First Aid Certificate can be provided before or after workshop, but must be before issue of ASI SUP Yoga Teacher certificate.

The following equipment and clothing is required to complete the training:
SUP Yoga or flat water stand up paddle board, paddle, coiled leash
SUP clothing suitable for SUP Yoga
Computer or mobile phone to access ASI’s elearning platform to view SUP Wise Intensiv and SUP Rescue online reference manuals
In addition, for the Online learning option:
Video camera or mobile phone to take video of practical skills and submit online
2 x persons to be your clients

Each year, ASI SUP Yoga Teachers renew their ASI SUP Yoga Teacher certificate.
