SUP Rescue Refresher (IPDJ Credits)

Keep up to date with ASI Short courses, specially designed for instructors who hold the Treinador De Desporto Surfing Grau 1.

Update your skills and knowledge on how to perform SUP rescues.  

Approved by the IPDJ, you will earn 1 Credit (1 Unidades de Crédito, IPDJ).  This is a participation course only, with no formal assessment.  Once you attend the workshop you are eligible to receive the IPDJ approved ASI course certificate. 

There is a special discount fee for ASI Instructors.

Perform simple rescues in SUP enclosed flat water and exposed waters locations.

Conduct rescues at:  

  • Inland waterways including rivers, lakes, estuaries, canals

  • Coastal locations, with flat water, no breaking waves.

Professional skills update course for instructors holding Treinador De Desporto Surfing Grau 1.

  • Identify emergency situations

  • Respond to emergency situations

  • Apply SUP rescue techniques

  • Demonstrate in-water rescues on conscious and unconscious patients using single and double roll methods

  • Identify the signs of potential spinal injuries and respond and treat accordingly

  • Emergency signals and incident reporting

Hold a current Treinador De Desporto Surfing Grau 1

Workshop:  
An intensive course that focuses on the major components, with the ability to interact with the trainer and the group. 
Duration:  5 hours.

SUP Rescue Water Safety Manual
1 IPDJ credit  (1 Unidades de Crédito, IPDJ)

The following equipment and clothing is required to complete the training:

  • Flat water stand up paddle board, paddle, coiled leash 

  • SUP clothing suitable for paddling and suitable for immersion in water when performing rescues

SUP (Stand Up Paddle) Rescue Refresher certificate (IPDJ Approved)
