Robertstown is located in Co Kildare and only 45 mins (47km) drive west of Dublin.
It is a small village situated on the banks of the Grand Canal. In 1784 the Grand Canal was built and is part of canals that connects Dublin with the River Shannon in the east. It is 132 km (82 miles) long, has 43 locks and passes through a number of villages and crosses rivers.
The canal offers ideal paddling conditions, with sheltered, calm waters, places of interest, lovely scenery, opportunity to see wildlife and places to eat along its banks.
