Owned by Balinese local Gede Adnyan. an advanced level surfer who previously worked extensively for other Surf Schools before setting up his school in 2012. He is assisted in the surf school with a team of ASI Accredited instructors.
The school operates according to the ASI International surf school standards and has also won multiple awards. They are the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence winners for 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018 and Luxury Travel Guide winners 2016 & 2017.
SURF ACTIVITIES
The surf school location is perfect for beginners, with sandy beach bottom. Nearby are intermediate to advanced level surf breaks.
The offer private, semi-private, group surf lessons and surf guiding trips around Bali for beginner and intermediate surfers.
They focus purely on the surfing and not on fancy brand endorsements or a stylishly furnished office. This means they can offer their lessons at half the price of most other surf schools.
Gede takes pride in his guests feeling like part of the family and not just a number. The school keeps groups to a maximum of 3 guests to 1 instructor, not the usual 8.

SURF FAMILY ACTIVITIES
Kids surf lessons are offered and family groups are popular at Santai Surf School, with adults and kids learning together for a fun family experience.
WHAT’S INCLUDED?
Each Surf lesson includes a surf safety and technique talk or introduction depending on the level. Then an Instructor demonstration followed by lots of coaching in the water and constructive feedback.
All surfing equipment, rash vests and drinking water are provided.

PLACES TO EAT
Seminyak / Legian Beach is getting a name for itself as a foodie heaven and rightly so. It has world class restaurants catering to hungry surfers, yogis and locals alike.
A favourite of the school is Bale Udang Mang EngKing. In a beautiful setting, with delicious food at a bargain price.
GETTING TO BALI
There are regular flights into Denpasar Airport from most countries. It is a 30-minute taxi drive from Denpasar Airport to Seminyak.
WHAT IS THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO VISIT YOU?
Bali has two distinct seasons; the wet season falls between mid November and March, although there is often sunny, rain free days.
The dry season is between April and mid November. The busiest months are July and August.
LOCAL TOURIST ATTRACTIONS
At Double Six beach you can enjoy a horse ride along the beach. Or after a good day surfing why not indulge with a Balinese massage; masseurs are available right on the beach.
Lounge with a Bintang beer in the shade, or a fresh fruit cocktail and enjoy the views of the Bali Sea or a Balinese sunset.
There are cafes and restaurants along the beach with food from $2 to high end 5 star cuisine all at reasonable prices.
To the south, the beachside city of Kuta has lively bars.

Fabulous surfing lessons!
We came as a family of 5 with 3 children aged 5, 10, 11.
The Instructors were very professional and the children were really comfortable with them. We quickly realised we could relax as the instructors kept close to the kids at all times - especially our youngest.
