HELP

CROATIA. SUP and Sail adventures around Croatia with ASI accredited SUP School, Whitstable SUP from the UK – they have teamed up with adventure company Go Xperience to offer a 7-day SUP and sail holiday to Croatia.

Imagine living on aboard a magnificent 51ft yacht, being part of a crew of 8 like-minded people sailing and exploring the beautiful cobalt blue waters of Croatian islands, stopping off for SUP lessons with ASI Instructor Lucy Boutwood from Whitstable SUP and experiencing first hand some of the most beautiful spots that Croatia has to offer?

Croatia is an Eastern European country east of Italy which encompasses over 1200 islands. Its west coast runs almost the entire length of the Adriatic Sea so there are endless opportunities for SUP and sailing adventures along this amazing coastline.

Getting there
There are daily flights to Split airport in Croatia from all European and UK main airports and it is only15 minutes by taxi to the marina Kastela, near the famous city of Split, where you will join the yacht and the crew.

The crew
Experienced ASI SUP Level 2 instructor and ASI Whitstable SUP school owner Lucy Boutwood will be delivering the SUP lessons. She is joined by Captain Nathan Williams, a fun-loving Master Mariner and owner of GoXperience, and experienced in sailing the waters around Croatia. Under his guidance you will be learning the ropes and experiencing first-hand what it’s like to live onboard. He has many years working at sea and he will ensure your safety and enjoyment at all times.

SUP activities
Throughout the trip Lucy will help you to perfect your SUP technique and guide you on some amazing adventures.

You will visit unspoilt coves and explore hard to get to places. It will all be done at your pace and with plenty of breaks. You will also learn warm up exercises and relaxation techniques that will help you ease any aching joints at the end of the day. If you are a more experienced paddler the tuition and experience can be tailored to your needs.

Life on board
The Yacht is a Gib-Sea 51, she has 5 double cabins – each with its own en-suite. She is big, comfortable and perfect for exploring the coast and islands of Croatia.

Part of the onboard experience is enjoying living and dining together, and the climate is perfect for eating out on deck, making the most of the balmy evening sunsets, re-living the day’s moments and star-gazing (over a glass of chilled wine if you wish!)

As this is an independent, adventure holiday everyone is expected to muck-in and lend a hand. This includes help preparing and cooking the meals and ensuring we’re sailing smoothly. You’ll be under the guidance of Nathan but soon you’ll be sailing like a pro. But, this is not a working holiday it’s an adventure. There will be plenty of time to relax, rest and rejuvenate.

Sleeping accommodation
It’s important to note: the cabins are shared. This is part of the onboard experience and the cabins will be made into doubles or twins – depending on whether you’re coming alone or with others. You you will only be placed with someone of the same gender if travelling alone.

A typical day
Weather dependent, a typical day will involve paddleboard tuition and adventures, delicious food, sailing to a beautiful location, swimming, snorkelling, more delicious food, and a great night’s sleep!
