Sponsored or Not!

HELP

Ever wondered why professional surfers place sponsors stickers on certain areas of their boards? Its not just for decoration.

It is in fact a hierarchical placement of the importance of their sponsors. A surfer that is sponsored by two or more companies will put the higher paying sponsor closer to the nose of the board.
A totally clean nose ( Stickerless ) of a professional surfers surfboards are usually a sign that they need a main sponsor.

The board is split into 3 areas for sticker placement.

MAIN SPONSOR - The nose is reserved for top level/main sponsor paying the most, usually a surf clothing/ wetsuit brand.
MID LEVEL - From just below the nose to the middle of the board, this area is for mid level sponsors paying less than the top level.
LOW LEVEL - Middle of the board back to the tail is for low level sponsors that pay the least or in some cases a sticker placement for free product/services etc..
