Learn how to stand up paddle and have SUP lessons and tours at Wittering SUP, an ASI accredited learn to stand up paddle school, located at the Arden Sailing club in Defford, Worcester, just north of the Cotswold and 2 hours drive north west of London.

Wittering SUP is owed and managed by husband and wife team, James and Alex Wittering.

James started paddling in 2011 and just loved it. He’s paddled around the UK and lots of locations overseas. He is an ASI SUP Technical Coach and an MBCT (mindfulness based cognitive therapy) teacher. Alex is an ASI SUP Instructor and SUP yoga instructor, yoga teacher and an STA level 2 open water swimming coach.

Prior to starting the SUP School, James had a corporate office job. He decided to combine of love paddling, work outdoors and set up Wittering SUP, with Alex.

James and Alex are both passionate about accessible, safety focused SUP coaching. For them, SUP is more than just a fun, water-based activity. It's also a mindful way to nourish your mental health; it's eco-therapy. Escape the noise of modern life, reconnect with nature and loved ones whilst learning a new, confidence-building skill that you can take with you on all your travels and adventures.

Their unique teaching style is patient and calming, with sessions designed to help you progress at your speed and ensure you have an enjoyable time on the water.

Wittering SUP offers instruction for the complete beginner, SUP Wise certificate courses, SUP yoga, adventure tours for the brave explorers and bespoke trips, adventures and fun days for any occasion.

Parties, hens and stag parties, school groups, and corporates can also be accommodated..

Learn to SUP lessons include group sessions, private 1:1 coaching and coaching to improve your technical skills.

They also specialise in mindfulness sessions, to destress, relax and connect to nature, as part of SUP tours and adventures and SUP yoga sessions and retreats.

Join the SUP club, with weekly sessions to help build your confidence and improve your SUP skills.

Based on the banks of the beautiful River Avon, at the Arden Sailing Club, you will launch right on the banks of the water into a very calm and sheltered part of the river. Very safe and ideal for beginners.

Paddle along up the river and enjoy the scenery in a very peaceful and relaxing setting

See river canal boats and lots of wildlife – including deer, white swans and lots of other birds and butterflies.

SUP Yoga sessions are on river and in the nearby outdoor heated Lido swimming pools (depending on the conditions). All locations are set amongst nature, with a peaceful and relaxing environment.
