Types of SUP

Stand Up Paddle  is conducted in range of locations types and formats.  

 

Flat Water SUP

Enclosed Flat Water
Are Inland waterways and bodies of water including creeks, rivers, lakes, lagoons, estuaries, canals that are no wider than 1 km.  Flat water with no swell or breaking waves. No more than 250 metres from shore.
 

 

Exposed Waters
Coastal beaches and bays & inland bodies of water greater than 1km (0.6 ml) wide.  Surface chop or swell up to 2ft
No breaking waves.  No more than 250 metres from shore

Downwind
The paddler uses the energy of the ocean swells and wind to their advantage. Conducted in coastal waters and large inland bodies of water.  Wind speed between 15 & 20 knots. Swell size up to 4 ft, no more than 500 metres from shore.

SUP Racing
Flat water races are held in a variety of locations and distances.  From sprints to 5 day events covering hundres of kilometres.  Race for fun or become pro.

SUP Surfing

Beginner SUP Surf 

Trim along breaking waves up to 1 ½ ft.

Intermediate SUP Surf
Demonstrate ability to control the board and use the paddle to perform and link intermediate SUP surf manoeuvres. 3 - 4ft peeling waves.
Advanced SUP Surf
Demonstrate ability to control the board and use the paddle to perform and link advanced level SUP manoeuvres, in the critical section of the wave - surf up to 6ft.

SUP Wellness

SUP Yoga
Relax and enjoy yoga on on the water!.  Conducted by qualifed SUP Yoga Instructors who must also hold minimum 200 hour Yoga teacher certificate.

 

 

SUP Fitness
Forget the gym and get outdoors to workout.  SUP Fitness is more intensive workout but very enjoyable !  Conducted by qualifed SUP Fitness Instructors who must also hold Fitness / Personal Trainer qualifications.
