SUP Instructor Renewal

Renewal date:  30 June.  (or 31 December for Australia & Asia)

Fee:  AUD $55     

Includes:
12 months accreditation  
Both renewal and membership
Multiple ASI instructor qualifications (e.g. surfing, stand up paddle, bodyboarding).

Currency: Australian Dollars.    Currency Converter  

Refund Policy: No refund is provided once renewal form has been submitted and processed.
 


Expired Certificates

(a) Certificate Expired by more than 6 months

Your certificate is expired more than 6 months after the expiry date.

FEE:  AUD $110.   

Includes:
12 months renewal fee of $55 plus1 missed year renewal of $55.
Both renewal and membership
Multiple ASI instructor qualifications (e.g. surfing, stand up paddle, bodyboarding).

(b) Certificate Expired by more than 3 years

You need to re-do the training.   Flexible learning option is available if you can’t attend a workshop.


Procedure

1.  Online Renewal form
Complete the online renewal form (choose your region).  Provide updated contact details.

2.  Water Rescue Certificate
On the online renewal form, upload a current copy of your flat water rescue or surf rescue certificate.
Water rescue certificate to be no more than 24 months old from date of issue. (or no more than 12 months old from date of issue for Australia).  
A surf rescue certificate is required for ASI SUP surfing level accreditation.   e.g Surf Lifesaving, ASI Water Rescue Award (Surf)
ASI accepts rescue certificates from a range of training providers  See: training providers....

3.  Senior First Aid Certificate
On the online renewal form, upload a current copy of your senior first aid certificate.
Senior First Aid certificate to be no more than 36 months old from date of issue.
Surf Rescue Life Saving certificates that contain senior first aid as part of the certificate are acceptable (e.g. UK/Portugal/Bali. eg.  Surf Lifesaving GB)
ASI accepts rescue certificates from a range of training providers  See: training providers....

4. Practical Experience
On the online renewal form, provide information on how you have completed your practical renewal requirements:
The name of the SUP School / s that employed you
The locations, dates and the number of hours where you have completed your practical experience
Must have been completed in the previous 12 months

Flat Water practical requirements:

  • Level 1 SUP Instructor (Enclosed Flat Water):  25 hours instruction at enclosed flat water locations
  • Level 1 SUP Instructor (Enclosed Flat Water) & Level 2 SUP Instructor (Exposed Waters): complete 25 hours instruction at exposed waters locations
  • Level 3 SUP Instructor (Downwind & Distance Paddling):  20 hours downwind SUP instruction plus complete a minimum of two (2) personal downwind SUP paddle sessions, of at least 10 kms and provide details of the sessions (location, date, logistics overview).
  • Level 4 Master SUP Coach (Advanced Racing):  instruction of advanced racing skills plus provide information of conducting competition coaching skills, for at least 2 persons, to a minimum regional level, over the previous two year period.

SUP Surf practical requirements:

  • Level 3 SUP Instructor (Beginner Surf):   25 hours instruction of beginner SUP surf sessions
  • Level 3 SUP Instructor (Beginner Surf) & Level 4 SUP Instructor (Intermediate Surf):  complete 25 hours instruction of intermediate SUP surf sessions
  • Level 5 Master SUP Coach (Surf): instruction of advanced SUP surf sessions & information of conducting competition coaching skills, for at least 2 persons, to a minimum regional level, over the previous two year period.

Other certificates practical requirements:

  • SUP Yoga Instructor: 25 hours instruction of SUP Yoga sessions, hold current ASI level 1 Stand Up Paddle Instructor (Enclosed Flat Water) certificate
  • SUP Surf Judge: a minimum of 20 hours SUP surfing judging over the previous 24 months.
  • SUP Instructor Water Rescue - attend workshop.
