Learn how to surf and have surfing lessons at Pines Surfing Academy Central Coast an ASI accredited learn to surf school located at Pelican Beach, Central Coast NSW, only 1 hr 15mins drive (88 km) north of Sydney city centre, and 45 mins from Newcastle.

The Surf school is owned and operated by Tamati Tapara.  He is an elite advanced surfer, and has been surfing since from a young age.  Surfing is Tamati’s passion.  He has surfed all over the east coast of Australia and Bali.  He surfed competitively, winning many local events.  Was actively involved in surfing boardrider clubs, helping organise the competitions and was also a surf judge.

Tamati started the surf school to work with others who love surfing and be able to offer them an opportunity to learn surf and progress up to competition level if they want to.

For Tamati, surfing is about having a go.   As a young kid, he was given the opportunity to get involved in surfing a time when he really needed it.   It changed his life.  And if he can do that for other kids, then bring it on!  It's his turn to give back !

Tamati is an accredited ASI surfing instructor holding surf rescue and first aid qualifications. He is assisted in the surf school by accredited surfing instructors.

Pines Surfing Academy Central Coast offers group and private surfing lessons, beginner to advanced surfing certificate courses, team building, surfing awareness for kids, adults, parties, school groups, and corporates.

The school also specialises in elite and competition skills training and surfing for school groups.

Surf lessons are held at Pelican Beach, in the Wyrrabalong National Park.  It has excellent surf, white beaches and nature all around.  But is only a 15-minute drive to The Entrance, a popular tourist town.
