Learn how to stand up paddle and have SUP lessons at the Big Blue Experience, an ASI accredited learn to stand up paddle school, located at Newgale Pembrokeshire in Wales.

 

The Big Blue Experience was established in 2001 and is owned and run by Oli Tuggey.   He’s a career watersports instructor with over 18 years’ experience in a variety of disciplines and locations.  He started supping in 2006 and teaching SUP since 2007.  Oli is also a qualified instructor for kitesurfing, powerboating, coasteering and snow-kiting.

Oli holds ASI Level 3 SUP Downwind Instructor and Level 3 SUP Surfing Instructor accreditation as well as senior first and rescue qualifications.  He is assisted in the SUP school by experienced ASI accredited SUP instructors.

The Big Blue Experience is also an ASI SUP Instructor Training Centre (ITC). Oli is authorised to train others to be ASI accredited stand up paddle instructors in Wales, UK and other overseas locations.

Oli’s wealth of waterman knowledge, SUP expertise and local information will ensure you get the best conditions and the best SUP experience on the day.

 

The Big Blue Experience offers private  and group lessons for beginner to distance paddling skills for all ages,  as well as SUP certificate courses, sup fitness, sup tours, social sup events, parties, school groups, stags and hens parties and corporate team building functions.

Big Blue is also a BKSA, IKO and RYA recognised training establishment and offers a wide range of other courses and activities including surfing, kitesurfing, coasteering and powerboating.

 

Lessons are conducted at a range of locations in Pembrokeshire.  From protected enclosed flat water locations to ideal exposed waters, beginner surf and downwinding locations.  

Newgale Sands is a stunning 2 miles sandy beach in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.   The region provides a variety of conditions for paddle boarding from Atlantic swells to sheltered wooded estuaries and reservoirs.

This area of the UK is renowned for its scenic coastline, natural beauty and variety of bays, beaches and rivers.   Wales has an incredible history and cultural heritage. In Pembrokeshire. there is evidence of stone age settlements, medieval castles and naval shipping history.
