Learn how to stand up paddle and have SUP lessons and tours at Ocean Vertical, an ASI accredited learn to stand up paddle school, based at Dunbar East Lothian Scotland, only 25 miles east of Edinburgh.

They specialise in outdoor wilderness experiences from the water to the mountains, in scenic locations, with nature all around.

Ocean Vertical is owned and operated by Stevie Boyle and Adrian Boot.   They are both accomplished waterman and outdoor activity instructors. 

Stevie started exploring, climbing, swimming, surfing and mountaineering as a child and has never stopped.  He has extensive mountain and water based experience and qualifications, including over 20 years in adventure education. He got involved in SUP in its early days and he is often exploring the inland lochs of Scotland and the Scottish coastline.

Adrian had a lifelong passion for the  wilderness spending years in the mountains and forests, climbing, building fires, and sleeping out under the stars.  Having spent many years in the corporate architecture world, the draw of the wild has always been there.  He oversees the operations and logistic to ensure all is running smoothly in the SUP school.

They started Ocean Vertical to share their love for adventure in the natural world and ensure the survival of our last remaining wild places.  

Offering educational and fun experiences, Stevie and Adrian have a wealth of local knowledge, so you can be sure you will be safe hands and have a great time and learn a lot.

They are assisted in the SUP school with experienced ASI accredited SUP instructors, with local knowledge and experience.

Ocean Vertical offers group and private lessons, SUP Wise learn to SUP certificate courses, SUP tours, team building and rentals for kids, adults, backpackers, parties, hens and stag parties, school groups, and corporates.

They specialise in custom adventures along the coast and to inland loch locations.    You will explore beautiful scenic locations, see nature all around you as you paddle along and enjoy the experience of being in the great outdoors. 

They also offer SUP Yoga sessions - which are held inland on peaceful scenic waters. 

Ocean Vertical is also an ASI Instructor Training Centre, with Stevie Boyle qualified to train others to be ASI SUP Instructors

SUP sessions are held at Dunbar at the coast in flat water conditions, or in the nearby harbour. 

Other locations in East Lothian are also used depending on the weather conditions and your abilities. 

The locations are stunning with castles, rocks, cliffs, inlets, beaches, islands, birds and marine life all there to be explored.

There is a range of water conditions so you can progress your skills to higher levels, if you choose to.
