Philippines Surfing Standards

HELP

The Philippines Department of Tourism continues to support the certification of instructors to ensure a high level of safety and standards for the booming surfing tourism industry.

The Philippines has an abundance of amazing surfing and stand up paddle locations, with surf and SUP schools plus a great range of accommodation from high end hotels and resorts to simple and local style bungalows.

The instructors have a high level of skills and now ASI Academy of Surfing Instructors is providing formal training and qualifications for the instructors. In 2015, over 60 instructors attended ASI training including attending first aid and surf rescue training.

ASI CEO from Australia, Tania Nesbitt and ASI Philippines CEO Paolo Soler officially hand over the instructors certificate along with and ASI Instructor t-shirt and surfing reference resources for each instructor to the Undersecretary Jasmin and the DOT team responsible for implementing the surfing tourism standards.

Congratulations to the Philippines Instructors who are all working hard to ensure the Philippines has a world class surfing tourism industry.

More instructor workshops will be conducted in 2016 covering a range of regions throughout the Philippines.
