This is an e-learning course, with practical assessments completed with a trainer. 

The trainer will provide guidance on the practical SUP and instruction skills, take video of you, conduct the assessment of your skills and provide feedback. 

The theory is completed online prior to attending the practical session.

There is a maximum of 2 people and the hours may slightly change depending if it is one person or two people.

Total duration:  1.5 hours

Level 2 SUP Instructor Exposed Waters (Flexible Trainer Delivery)  
Session:  1.5 hours

HOSTING:
Stand Up Paddle Perth are providing local support for the ASI SUP Instructor workshops, providing a wealth of local area knowledge.

PRACTICAL HOURS:
Stand Up Paddle Perth can also provide on-the-job practical hours experience.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

(1) Read the course information and requirements before enrolling.  
(2) You have 12 months to complete all courses.
(3) Within 12 months of enrolling, instructors must submit a:
-Senior First Aid certificate
-Water Rescue Certificate
Your SUP instructor certificate will not be issued until these are received.

Complete the practical assessments with an ASI Trainer.

The following equipment and clothing is required to complete the training:

• SUP board & coiled leash
• Paddle
• SUP clothing 
• Video camera / phone to take video
• Access to computer 
• Access to an ASI Accredited SUP School or other approved school to complete practical experience
• Organise to complete practical session with an ASI Trainer. 
• A person/buddy to complete rescue in the practical session.

If you are travelling and don't have your board or SUP gear, you can hire it from Stand Up Paddle Perth.

The waterfront Mindarie Marina area is home to the boat harbour and a boardwalk lined with cafes, restaurants and bars

The training is held at The Mindarie Marina, a hotel located right at the marina.  It’s a great spot to stay.

The Marina is the ideal location for paddling with the Indian Ocean on one side and the boat harbour on the other. Its only 30 minutes away from centre of Perth and the scenic Swan River.

Perth is vibrant city with an active outdoors environment.   The summers can be hot - up to 36 C.  But the seabreeze comes in and cools things off.  The winters are mild with sunny days.

There is a range of paddling locations and conditions from flat water, the ocean and ocean downwinding.

Perth also offers a great selection of cafes, pubs and nightlife makes it a great place to live and visit.
