Dunbar is a coastal town in East Lothian on the south-east coast of Scotland, approximately 30 miles (48 km) east of Edinburgh.
The town is renowned for its high sunshine record, rugged coastline and attractive countryside. It is steeped in history and was one of the most important Scottish Fortresses in the middle ages. Its ruined castle, which stands guard over the town's twinned harbours, once sheltered Mary Queen of Scots when she fled Edinburgh after the murder of Rizzio*
There are a number of beaches to surf at. Safe sandy beaches with ideal beginner size waves all year round to larger uncrowded surf in the winter and spring months.
You will also see a large range of wildlife with some of the world’s biggest populations of seabirds, resident seals and summer dolphin sightings.
