Kalajoki is a fantastic holiday destination, famous for its long sandy beaches and beautiful dunes, with nature all around.
The city only has 12500 inhabitants, by the Bay of Bothnia, 60 km North of Kokkolas and 130 km South of Oulu.
It is the ideal place to relax, far away from the busy city life.
There are all types of accommodation from camping to cabins to hotels, situated within walking distance to the water.
There is also a great selection of cafes and restaurants and water sports and other activities including cycling.
Saunas are part of the relaxation and in the middle of summer you have twilight all through the night.
It offers great possibilities for SUP, windsurfing and kitesurfing. The shores are shallow, with no currents or massive tidal effects.
Waves are normally max waist high. In case of wind there is a small pound nearby as well as a local fishermen’s harbour suitable for flat water training.
