Surfdancers is owned by Kristy Quirk. She grew up surfing with her older brother in Sydney’s northern beaches. An accomplished surfer, Kristy has competed in both short and longboard surfing competitions and represented Queensland in the Australian titles.
An accredited surf coach, Kristy has been coaching surfing lessons for over 8 years. She is also a qualified dance instructor and has been coaching dance for over 15 years. Kristy also holds her Bronze Medallion Surf Lifesaving, Advanced Resuscitation. Senior First Aid and Jet Ski licence for Surf Lifesaving Support Services. She is also actively involved in the Noosa Surf Club and you may have seen her patrolling the waters on the jet ski!
Kristy’s years of coaching dance and surfing, with people of all ages and especially children, has helped her develop learning techniques that are creative and make for easy learning in a relaxed and friendly way. She regularly works with the surf club and primary and high schools teaching surfing and surf awareness.
Kristy is much sought after as a surf coach. Her lessons add that personal touch with no more than 4 students in a group. She provides those “added” insights to ocean awareness with trips to alternative locations to suit the style and skill of her students.
Kristy’s love of surfing and dancing also resulted in her creating “surf dancing”.
Surfdancer offers group and private surfing lessons, beginner and intermediate surfing certificate courses, surfing guide trips, team building, surfing awareness for kids, adults, parties, school groups and corporates, as well as surf dancing for all ages.
