Brad Holmes Surf Coaching is owned and run by Brad Holmes. Brad has been teaching students of all ages from beginners to advanced on the Gold Coast since 1992.
Although Brad does accommodate large groups, he specialises in personalised (private one on one) coaching – short board, bodyboard, long board and body surfing.
Brad grew up on the Gold Coast and has been surfing most of his life. He holds his Level 2 Surfing Coach, Diploma of Sports Management (Surfing Studies – 2004), Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training, Level 1 CADs (Coaching Athletes with Disabilities), surf rescue, advanced resuscitation and senior first aid qualifications. Brad speaks 70% conversational Japanese, and a smattering of French, German, Italian, Indonesian, Mandarin and Thai.
He was the first surfing coach on the Gold Coast to introduce Stand Up Paddle Surfing, and also the first to surf the Artificial Reef at Narrowneck.
A qualified Tai Chi Instructor (with a background in acupuncture), Brad actively incorporates Tai Chi and Yoga in his student’s warm-ups. He conducts several sessions on the Gold Coast that are endorsed by the Gold Coast City Council.
