Learn to surf and have surfing lessons with Essential Surf School, an ASI accredited surf school, located at Coledale and McCauleys Beach, Sutherland Shire. (just south of Sydney).

Essential Surf School is owned by Peter and Fiona Hunt. Surfing is in their blood. Peter has been surfing since he was 8 years of age. He also was involved in swimming, nippers and has competed in surfing competitions on and off over the years. Peter is a passionate surfer and has extensive experience surfing different breaks around the world.

Fiona stared surfing when she was 14 years old. She has competed at local, state and national titles and holds 17 state gold medals and 2 bronze medals for swimming and board paddling.

They are both accredited surfing instructors with Bronze Medallion lifesaving, first aid and advanced resuscitation qualifications. They are also active patrolling members of the local surf lifesaving club and Peter was a previous patrol captain. Their son Tye also helps out. He has competed on the Quiksilver circuit and has surfed competitively all over the world.

Essential Surf School provides high quality surfing lessons with good instruction and no more than 6 students per instructor. You get lots of personalised service and people keep coming back – so there are lots of regular customers.

Bliss Surf School offers group and private surfing lessons from beginner to advanced levels, surfing certificate courses, weekend accommodation surfing packages, surfing guide trips, team building, surfing awareness for kids, adults, parties, school groups and corporates.

They also specialise in teaching surfing to cadet girls, mature women groups, youth groups, primary and high schools and colleges from as far away as Canberra.
