Sydney North Surf School is owned and run by Dave Lawler. He grew up in Narrabeen and has been surfing local breaks and other locations for 30 years. An active member of the local surf club, Dave is also an East Coast surfing and paddle boarder champion.
Dave's been coaching kids and adults for many years. He's an ASI Master Surfing Coach (Level 4), a qualfied sports trainer with Sports Medicine Australia, a Level 1 Touch Football coach, a Level 1 Rugby League Coach. Dave coaches Nippers and people from all backgrounds on surfing and surf awareness. He has also coached individuals and representative teams for surfing, surf lifesaving, rugby, soccer and touch football for state and national titles.
Coaching is a way of life for Dave. Surfing is Dave's passion. He enjoys helping people get the most fun and learning from surfing. He actively supports environmental issues and is on the Pittwater Council Coastal Ambassadors advisory board.
Dave has a great team of instructors, all hand-picked with proven surfing expertise. All instructors are qualified, hold surf lifesaving Bronze Medallion, advanced resuscitation and senior first aid qualifications.
Sydney North Surf School offers group and private surfing lessons, beginner to advanced surfing certificate courses, team building, surfing awareness, paddle boarding and kayaking for kids, adults, parties, school groups and corporates. Large group sizes can be accommodated.
Dave also provides competition skills coaching for all ages.
1 day surf trips are provided on the northern beaches - Manly to Palm Beach - loads of fun, checking out all the beaches, having a surf with lunch and gift included. A range of accommodation can also be organised if you are interested in staying longer and enjoying the surfing lifestyle.
