IRELAND. The final event of the Irish Winter SUP Series held on the River Corrib was an incredible event. It was a beautiful location on the pristine River Corrib just outside Galway city.

Here’s what Paul Byrne had to say “The sun was shining but the wind made its presence known too in challenging conditions.

All categories saw a great turn out with lots of new faces joining us for the final event.

The men's race was dominated by the inform Patrick McCormick. Caoimhe Galligan Byrne, aged 16, won the Ladies Raceboards paddling with incredible strength and experience for one so young. Keith Gorman finished off his winning streak in the men's All Round to take the series win, and Maria McGivern McNally took the win in the Ladies All Round with an impressive win on her inflatable.

Big thank you to SUP Galway for hosting this event, and to IRISHSUP and Pure Adventure for putting the series together.

Thank you to Paddle Monster, Aqua Marina and the Academy of Surfing Instructors for their generous support with prizes.

Bring on the summer...?”
