Surf Safety & Learn to Surf Courses

Surf Safety and Awareness
Level 1

  • Demonstrate surf awareness, safety and self-rescue skills to safely participate in activities in the surf environment.
Beginner Surfer
Levels 2 - 3

 

  • Trim along on broken or peeling waves up to 1 ½ feet (½ metre)
Intermediate Surfer
Levels 4 - 6

 

  • Perform top and bottom turns, light cut-backs and light re-entries in surf up to 3 feet (1 metre).
Advanced Surfer
Levels 7 - 9

 

  • Perform a range of manoeuvres (round house cut-back, snap vertical re-entry, floater, tube) in 3 feet (1 metre) plus surf at different surf breaks.
Elite Advanced Surfer
Level 10

 

  • Demonstrate performing a whole range of manoeuvres (round house cut-back, snap vertical re-entry, floater, tube) in 6ft (3 metres) plus surf at surf breaks around the world.
