Your days will be spent at the beach, some classroom theory and research to develop your surfing knowledge and business skills.

You can attend ASI affiliated colleges and gain surfing qualifications from beginner to surfing instructor and coach level.

If you live in Australia, you can apply for Austudy financial assistance. If you live outside Australia, the college can help with study visa’s and accommodation.

Certificate I in Sport & Recreation (Surfing) 3 months. For the beginner surfer. You’ll learn some general administration skills and have lots of surfing practice to learn to surf on small waves. It is an ideal entry level course for those people who do not have much surfing experience.

Certificate II in Sport & Recreation (Surfing) 6 months. For the beginner surfer. Learn to surf on small waves, business administration skills and how to promote products and services to client. Ideal for those people wanting to gain an entry level position within the surfing industry.

Certificate II in Sport & Recreation (Surfing) 6 months. Take the next step up from beginner. You will learn to surf at the intermediate level, business administration skills and how to promote products and services to clients. Ideal for those people wanting to gain an entry level position within the surfing industry.

Certificate III in Sport & Recreation (Surfing Instructor - Level 1) 12 months. This qualification is for those people interested in being a surfing instructor. You will learn intermediate surfing skill and knowledge, how to instruct at the beginner to intermediate level, business administration and sales/marketing skills. You will also receive a Surfing Instructor (Level 1) qualification from the Academy of Surfing Instructors.
